Sleeping deeply for six or more hours allows our brain to rejuvenate, our body to restore itself, and our minds to take us into some interesting dream worlds.

Adequate sleep can:

  • Improve our health
  • Enhance our sex life
  • Decrease our chronic pain
  • Lower our risk for injury
  • Improve our mood
  • Provide better weight control
  • Help us think more clearly
  • Increase our immunity
  • Improve our memory

How I add this to my life: I am fairly consistent about getting to bed and waking up at the same time each day. I feel my circadian rhythm works best when I have a pattern that I keep.

And you?

From → A to Z Blog

  1. I like to switch the lights off not later than 10 p.m., though sometimes it is later (especially during the A-Z when in the last stretch upon return from Botswana I was up until the early hours!) … but sleep is one of my best times! That circadian rhythm is essential! Thanks Beth – time now to catch up on zzzzz’s … (not right now, it’s only mid-afternoon here in SA)

  2. I am having difficulty sleeping, but I hope that as life settles down I will sleep better. Thanks for keeping me healthy this month! I enjoyed your posts. Congratulations on completing the Challenge!
