    I believe silence is a wise choice. In conversation, we can use that moment of silence to listen, not just to the other’s words, but to our next thought before we actually put voice to it. Don’t rush to “stick a word in edgewise”. When I waste words on complaints, I believe I’m trying to elevate myself above my own shortcomings. Finally, Congratulations, Beth, on meeting the challenge! From A to Z, you’ve shared 30 heartfelt ways to keep our lovers; now it’s our challenge to take them to heart. And I do hope this effort has inspired again your urge to keep writing, a little each day.

  3. I’m trying to get better at not filling the silences with random chatter. I’m fine with quiet by myself but it unnerves me in conversation.

    • Yes, I think it’s very difficult to maintain a quiet with someone else. Unless you are walking or looking at nature or petting a cat. In other words, sharing something else. And yet, the silence could be quite meaningful.
