It’s relatively easy to be calm when things are going well. But the real challenge is to keep breathing and hold a space when things are difficult. When we are self-confident and know we can maintain our footing and focus on ourselves, regardless of what others are doing, we will maintain our balance.

When others are shouting or pushing, it’s easy to become reactionary. That’s when it’s time to reach down to find that special quality from the lion in The Wizard of Oz, cuh-rage. And, just like the lion, we find we’ve had it inside us all the time, just waiting for us to notice.

How does it feel when you find yourself operating from a centered place even in a difficult situation?

  1. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced that. 🙂

  2. Nice post Beth thank you! It’s amazing to me how sometimes in difficult situations, something inner comes to the fore and the ‘situation’ is diffused just but not over-reacting.

  3. My “raison d’être” is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever, so, hopefully, everything I do focuses back on that goal. And it feels good! Happy A to Z!

  4. I’m a Capricorn, sign of the goat, sure footed and determined. I grit my teeth at any rocky ground ahead.
