If we wish to expand our vision, we take a step back, look at our situation, and see where we fit in the bigger scheme of things. We might look up to the stars and feel both an amazing connection to the entire universe and recognize what a small, insignificant piece of it we are.

If we wish to envision the future, we see that current resources, such as water, are limited. We might plan for our future, conserve energy, and live in such a way that life can continue. We could honor the Native American concept of living sustainably to benefit the seventh generation into the future.

If we wish to be flexible, we embrace changes, even those that frighten us. We might see that we will miss things we consider burdens, when we no longer do them. People often say they wished their loved ones were still living, even if it would require heavy responsibility on their part. Let us remember this while we are experiencing the burden and transform it into a joy.

How often have you said, “But we’ve always done it this way?”

  4. Yep… agreed. We have both become more spiritually aware of all life by starting Transcendental Meditation – it has helped us health, stress and with things like this! I’m doing animals too – poetry, information, art… I make things difficult for myself! Good luck in the challenge!
